During a women’s first intercourse, their hymen will tear causing bleeding and pain. This can also be caused by physical activity including trauma to the pelvic region, tampon use, or any strenuous activity to the pelvic area.
Ideal candidates :
Any woman who wants to get hymen repaired .
Hymenoplasty is performed under local anesthetic with or without sedation, as an outpatient procedure. Length of the procedure lasts about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Dr.M.Shridharan will use dissolvable stitches to reconnect the skin membrane that was covering the opening of the vagina. The edges are stitched back together to reform the star-shaped “ring” The opening is made small enough so that the hymen ruptures during subsequent activity and so there will be some pain and bleeding like it was during your “first” time.
Instructions after surgery :
You will have bruising, swelling, and minor discomfort in the groin area. Your stitches will be dissolvable, so you do not need to have them removed.
